Every wedding has so many gorgeous details that I absolutely love to photograph, but I have to admit one of my absolute favorite wedding details to photograph is flowers! There is something so mesmerizing in the way God created flowers and the elegance they bring to a wedding day! You just can’t beat real flowers!

One girl who is KILLER with florals is my good friend Haley at The Blossom Jar! Each time a bride tells me her florist is Haley, I get so excited because I know her work is ALWAYS PHENOMENAL! It’s is truly a joy to get to see her works of floral art and photograph them.

I recently asked Haley a few questions about how she got into wedding florals, her favorite things about what she does, and some fun questions. Read below to learn more about this amazing florist and my good friend!

I have worked in the wedding industry for 4 years now. It can be a stressful job but it is also so rewarding getting to serve sweet couples and help make their special day beautiful! I plan on doing this work for many more years to come!

I actually got into doing florals by not knowing what I wanted to do. I was trying different jobs and majors in college and could not seem to find one that I was super passionate about. I started helping at a local florist one Saturday morning before a big wedding and jumped right in and loved it! After that I continued to work at this florist because I had finally found something that I had the creativity, work ethic, and passion for doing!

My favorite part of doing florals is working with so many different people. I have met the sweetest brides, wedding planners, wholesalers, vendors, and others. In this industry we are all working together for a common goal and the most fun part of it is we all get to work together to accomplish it for our clients.

Working with Shana and the rest of our team makes all of our events the most fun, but one the ones that stick out in my mind are usually the ones where we overcome bumps in the road. Once we left to set up a wedding at 6 am and were finished by 8am. Another time we set up a wedding during the rehearsal dinner and finished so late the only thing open for dinner was cookout, Shana and I ate our dinner at 11pm and headed home to our families who were wondering what on earth we were doing. We’ve had so many memories because this job has no set office or office hours.

Many people ask us what brides need to consider when planning a wedding or thinking about florals. While it is great to have inspiration and examples that you love, you do not have to have it all planned out before consulting with a florist. We are happy to help along the way! We plan many more weddings than most brides do, therefore we can walk you through each step, offer some options you may not have thought about, create a design for the event that is cohesive and representative of the couple, and execute all your ideas. We never want brides to feel like they are on their own to plan an entire wedding. We are on your team and are just as excited to see your inspiration come to life as you are!

I would have to say that The Blossom Jar’s willingness to help and our flexibility is what sets us apart from other florists. We are there to serve you and make it work no matter what comes up or what you ask us to do. It is more than just dropping off bouquets for us. We are there to make sure your event is everything you dreamed it would be.

We are more than just a florist and that is why our flowers are more than just decor. Some brides choose to use fake flowers as a cheaper option. I will say that fake flowers that look nice enough to pass for real flowers are anything but cheap. You may have something to keep after your event but you will not have the same experience you can expect when using a fresh flower florist. My mom is still so proud that she had pink oriental lilies in her cascading bouquet 30 years ago. Her florist making that a reality to her is one of the things she remembers about her wedding day and we want our brides to be just as proud of their floral choices.

3 fun facts about me:
I love thrift shopping! Most of the decor in my house is thrifted because I love the uniqueness and stories I get to tell of where I found incredible tin canisters and vintage bookends. I love mixing modern floral elements with vintage pieces that speak to my own since of style.
I wish I could sing! My boyfriend is a worship pastor at our church and I love watching him lead others. I want to serve in the church alongside him for the rest of our lives… I may just have to use my finance degree to be the church’s accountant or something! Or I could snuggle all the babies 🙂
I secretly want to be asked to stay at some of my bride’s weddings. We don’t get to see everyone dressed up and dancing the night away like planners and photographers do. Maybe one day it’ll happen but for now, I’ll live through Corey’s amazing pictures!

If you are looking for an incredible florist and an equally amazing person, look no further than Haley at The Blossom Jar! You will not be disappointed!
Until next time, your friend and joyful wedding photographer Corey!
